Hi, I’m Laura,

After graduating and entering the working world, I did what most people do. I worked hard, I worked late, stared at screens all day, and scrolled on screens all night. Over time, I became disillusioned, burnt out, anxious and disconnected. I kept thinking - is this it? Will I spend the rest of my life looking at a screen?

It wasn’t cynicism that was driving this thought, but rather a belief that I knew there was so much more to life. Why was living like this becoming the norm? I was born in 95, so I grew up both with and without the internet occupying every corner of life. I’ve observed how rapidly tech has mutated from being a supportive tool to becoming an omnipresent environment that consumes our time, attention and intelligence.

The pace of tech development outruns our cultural, ethical and psychological preparation, and with AI advancing so quickly, it became clear to me that we are entering a pivotal moment - one that requires literacy, transparent dialogue, reflection and informed consent. Regular people are about to have their worlds turned upside down once again by technology, before we’ve even recovered from the effects of what’s already here. These conversations need to be had.

Cozy Life Diary is a mission. Part of a counter-movement to digital overwhelm”

Over the past year, I’ve found myself ruminating and asking bigger questions about technology. How it shapes us, distracts us, disconnects us from the things that make us feel human.

At first, Cozy Life Diary was a personal protest to reclaim my time, focus, attention and sense of reality. But I found I wasn’t alone, and there were many others who shared similar concerns. Now Cozy Life Diary is a mission. Part of a counter-movement to digital overwhelm.

This isn’t about rejecting technology or pretending that we can stop progress. It’s about protecting what matters, engaging our autonomy and living with intention. We can make small personal changes, then community-level changes and eventually cultural ones. But it starts with awareness, clarity and conversations.

I’m learning as I go, asking questions, studying, researching and experiencing - I’ll share everything here in the hope that it brings you understanding too.

You don’t need a tech background to be part of this (I don’t!) - just a curiosity and a desire to preserve the beauty of being human.
